What's that? Another We Love Cheese festival?

We really spoilt you over spring with two We Love Cheese festivals! We took our beloved festival across the river to our new home in Deptford Market Yard to treat SE London to what they had been missing.

We saw an abundance of cheese sellers, an epic line up of cheesy street food from some of London's best, a talks and tastings tent, live music, games and competitions, a free children's craft tent and this was on top of our weekly Deptford Bites line up of produce and crafts! All of that with another glorious day of sunshine. Who could complain?

Congratulations to our We Love Cheese, Cheese Cup winners The Tapas Room whose cheese was voted the best by the hundred who flocked the yard. London Smokehouse weren't far behind, claiming second place. Enjoy your very own We Love Cheese, cheese board guys!

If you find yourself in SE London on a Saturday, come down to Deptford Bites in Deptford Market Yard and see what all the fuss is about. Here you can find fresh artisan produce, a rotation of some amazing talented makers and designers from SE London and beyond as well an incredible selection of London's finest street food.

We Love Cheese returned to Ealing for the second time...

Sweet dreams really were made of cheese as Dickens Yard came alive once again with the first We Love Cheese of the year and we couldn't have asked for better weather... could summer finally be on its way?

With such an epic selection of cheesy street food from the likes of Muffin Man & Co., The Raclette Brothers and Mac to the Future it was hard to decide what to have so we had to have little bit from everyone!

We Love Cheese wouldn't quite be the same without an abundance of cheese and a good old W5 Cheese Cup competition. This is why we decided to spoilt you with even more cheeses from around the world. You tried and learnt all about cheeses from England, France, Italy, Spain, Sardinia, to name a few. It was a close call but the fabulous Bath Soft Cheese claimed the W5 Cheese Cup, cheese board in first place with previous winners Capo Caccia not far behind in second place. Who will claim the prize when we take the festival over the river to Deptford on the 5th May?

This year, we wanted everyone to be able to enjoy We Love Cheese which is why our vegan cheese sellers were a very popular addition to the lineup. Vegan cheese really is delicious!

We didn't stop there. Our Ealing Bites Live talks tent was in full swing with the tastings hosted by Ealing's favourite Grace Dent. A highlight and well anticipated talk of the day was our 'I could never give up cheese...' debate featuring experts in their field.

A massive thank you to our We Love Cheese sponsor Heritage Cheese, our wine partners Park+Bridge and our beer partners Weird Beard Brew Co.

If you missed it, don't worry. We will be back on the 5th May in Deptford Market Yard for even more cheese!

Grace Dent Launches We Love Cheese in Dickens Yard

Dickens Yard in Ealing came alive on Sunday 8th October as hundreds of residents and visitors attended the first ever We Love Cheese festival in the development. The event was held to celebrate the launch of the new weekly Ealing Artisan market, run by local organisers Eat Me Drink Me.

Produce stalls including Brocklebys Pies, Picks Organic Farms, Limpopo Biltong, GB Cheesecake and Claude’s Boulangerie lined up alongside cheesy street food from the likes of Grill My Cheese and Honest Burgers, who launched their latest cheeseburger: The Ealing. Abbotshill Wine Bar & Deli joined forces with Formaggi & Cheese and ES Magazine’s restaurant critic Grace Dent to run wine & cheese pairings in the Ealing Bites talks tent.

The hotly contested Cheese Cup award was voted for by guests and was won by reigning champion Capo Caccia with their Blusard cheese from Sardinia.

Ealing Artisan will start on Sunday 15th October when the street food line up will feature Muffin Man & Co, Indian Street Kitchen and Nha Trang, with Chapter Coffee and Abbotshill on hand to provide refreshments. There’s a kids craft area, with giant games supplied by Dickens Yard resident Charlotte W5, live music and all the food stalls you could need for your weekly alternative to the supermarket shop.

The market will take place in Dickens Yard every Sunday from 11-3pm.

Cheese Fest 2017

June 11th saw the first ever W5 Food Market: Cheese Fest come to the streets of Ealing. An official event in the Evening Standard London Food Month, our monthly Sunday food market got cheesy for the day.

A glorious day was had by all at our inaugural Cheese Fest. Many thanks to everyone who came along to participate in the Cheese Cup tasting, and to our lovely traders who pulled out all the stops to make it a fabulous day.

It was stiff competition for best cheese, but in the end it was Capo Caccia's pecorino blue cheese 'Ovinforth' who narrowly pipped Andaluz's rosemary manchego 'Flor de Romero'. Special thanks to Ealing's own Abbotshill Wine Bar for a lovely place to relax at the market, and to Northfield's LoveHandmade who provided the winners' cheese board prizes.
